The Heart Failure (HF) Meta-Score is a calculator to estimate survival from baseline. The effect of changes in factors over time can be also estimated. Examples of factors that can change over time are ICD shocks, renal function, NYHA class, left ventricular ejection fraction.
The HF Meta-Score is designed to be used by health care providers knowledgeable in cardiology. The HF Meta-Score provides information about patients’ prognosis.
At no time, the HF Meta-Score should replace physician’s judgement.
If any predictor required to calculate the score is missing, predicted survival should be re-calibrated. Failure to do this may result in overestimation of survival.
